Ah, 'Fifth Gear', the poor relation to 'Top Gear', but it still puts out some interesting stuff. If I remember correctly they smashed another car into the same set-up at the same speed and it was annihilated, of course I can't remember what car it was.
Their crash between a new Renault Laguna and an old Renault Leguna (people movers) was more enlightening. Drivers side to drivers side offset, each car doing 35mph. Driver of old car, dead. Driver of new car, unscathed.
A friend has a smart. It's ok, the gear box is clever.
