In favor of permanent DST. I'm really looking forward to two months of post-0900 sunrises and six months of post-0800 sunrises. Grrr.

I don't care what they do, just stop switching back and forth.
Maybe we can get Democrats to agree to get rid of DST and go to non-DST time (since Trump wants DST time).
Was that Trumps plan all along? 3 years or so of all this just to put Congress in a position where it would agree to end DST.
-
Cue the Trump is breaking the universe by messing with time protests.
Waiting on AOC's brilliant insight on this.

I'm just extra pissed (long time APS members know my hate of DST anyway) because Idaho just last month passed legislation to go to permanent MST. Now Rubio and these other jackasses are going in the opposite direction for national legislation. Not everybody lives on the Eastern edge of a time zone or in Florida.

I'm with MechAg... I don't care one way or the other, just pick one and stop screwing the country over twice a year.

While we're at it. let's get rid of those pesky time zones. Heck, let's put the whole globe on the same time!
https://www.laserfiche.com/ecmblog/how-it-can-eliminate-daylight-saving-time-zones/
(Yes, it's an old article. No, I don't like spring forward/fall back. Yes, I understand that time zones reflect the human perception of day and night, and getting rid of that would require the entire globe to (a) cooperate and (b) adjust their thinking so that a.m. and p.m. would become irrelevant. The whole world would operate on Zulu time.)

Add me to the list of people who thinks we should just eliminate DST. It doesn't "save" any daylight. Originally it was supposed to be to accommodate farmers, which I could never understand. Farmers have alarm clocks. If they want to get up with the sun, they can just set their clocks accordingly.
Then it was "for the children" -- something about keeping kids safe while waiting at stops for the school bus.
And then it was about saving energy. That didn't make any sense to me, either.
Just get rid of it.

(1) As you said, it did nothing for farmers.
(2) If you want to protect children, stop having school start so early in the morning!
(3) It doesn't save energy. As I recall, it uses more, as people run air conditioning/heating longer as a result.
Not, stay on DST. At no point in the year does it ever feel correct. Move back to standard time, for the whole year. Businesses can adjust their hours accordingly.
(Also, stop making me wake up at 5 in the morning in the dark to be up at "6 a.m." to get anything done in my garden/yard before work.)

That's what I thought it would be. :D I like the song. Did not like the video; was wondering why a cop didn't shoot him.

I believe I'm the fourth to say pick one and stop the changes.
If you really like/dislike getting up with the sun, change your operating hours and get up earlier or later.

The video was worth it to watch that 512BB tearing up the track.
-
Just pick one or the other and stay with it.

My preference would be DST all year.
I can't adjust my work hours and prefer the more daylight at the end of my day.
-
It's all arbitrary, so why not shove all in? Declare a meridian passing through Mar a Lago that all US time will be based on.
-
Every dog and cat owner would vote to pick one and be done with it.
Also, people with small children.

I think most people are under the impression it has been around longer than that.
