Now that's an ammo fort
« on: April 09, 2014, 12:49:39 PM »
Florida neckbeard has 1.8 million rounds of Federal bulk pack .22lr for sale, only $180,000 or trade for a condo.  But yeah, I'm sure the shortage is the fed.gov stealing it all.

OOPS!

Threw in an extra 0 when I divided...

Yeah, that's not such a good price.

It's people like that whom I hope are sitting on a ton of invested money when the market finally collapses.

I don't think he understands that you can caommand a better price when you sell in small lots. Selling in bulk, he will need to offer a discount to get anyone interested. I'm thinking at best he can get half his asking price.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Ten cents a round, with shipping costs included, aint that bad.

He is offering to pay the freight charges, right?

And all y'all do know that a group buy will still put more than a weekend's worth of plinking in your ammo locker.  Anybody else want to go in with me?

He wants a condo in Miami Beach, with water views, for $180,000. That and his various typos lead me to believe that he isn't the sharpest marble in the attic.

My first clue was the fact that he has 1.8 million rounds of cheap bulk pack .22lr.

Or he may be having us on.

Or that.

I've seen a few bricks for $28.00 in stores (Win Wildcat), I'm waiting for the price to come down.

About the only redeeming factor to .22 rimfire is that it was dirt cheap, and good for near endless plinking.

Other than that it's basically worthless except for very small critters like gophers.  I've had to put eight or nine shots into a porcupine  ;/

I've pretty much come down to where if something is worth shooting, it's worth shooting with a .30-30 (or a shotgun).

And it's great for teaching young and/or new shooters.  No recoil, no earth-shattering Ka-Boom.  Allows both instructor and student to focus on proper techniques and not developing a flinch or becoming recoil adverse.

I've killed many a critter bigger than a gopher with a .22lr and only one shot. I take it you never met a fur trapper?

The guys on those TV shows are killing gators with 22lr.  Does less damage to the hide apparently.

I've read that the .22lr has killed more game large and small in America than any other, but that's mainly due to poachers jacklighting using it for the low report.
