France's latest anti-tank missile, reputed to be as advanced as the American "Stinger" & "Hellfire".

The stinger is an anti-aircraft missile.  The Hellfire is a big helicopter launched missile.  I think they mean to compare to the American Dragon missile which is a shoulder fired anti-tank missile.

I think this is it though this one seems to look wire guided, maybe not.

The dragon is supposed to launch out of the tube 30 or 40 feet before firing it's rocket motor.  I think I'd run my but off too.

Flubbed test aside, if that missile truly is:
1. Anti-armor
2. That large
3. Not, say just anti-personnel/bunker/etc specially designed for urban ops & used on an anti armor CLU (command launch unit)
4. Max Range~600m
the French are getting taken.  Unless they are getting it real cheap.

Our Javelin looks to be lighter, smaller, and has a ~2000m range.

Our top-line missiles are the Hellfire (Heli-borne BIG-*expletive deleted*ss ATGM that can get tot he target any number of ways: IR, RF, semi-autonomously), TOW (Ground veh & crew-served heavy ATGM), and Javelin (Used by dismounts).

The specs given for the French system are inferior to all US systems (save for the missile diameter).

Doesn't the Javelin cost about $100k per shot?  Do soldiers ever actaully get to practice with the missles, or just the "simulations"?  With a weapon as complicated like that & designed for grunts, I hope it works as well as it is supposed to.
