AP: Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens was convicted of seven corruption charges Monday in a trial that threatened to end the 40-year career of Alaska's political patriarch in disgrace. The verdict, coming barely a week before Election Day, increased Stevens' difficulty in winning what already was a difficult race against Democratic challenger Mark Begich. Democrats hope to seize the once reliably Republican seat as part of their bid for a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

I'm voting for him anyway. Better a felon than the schmuck running against him

=D Apparently he's endorsed by Colin Powell, too. http://www.adn.com/news/politics/fbi/stevens/story/551875.html

Just a few days ago, the Obamatons had suddenly decided they liked the until-very-recently called "Uncle Tom" Powell, and of course they had always respected him, especially when he was Bush's SecState. ;/

Now he's standing up for Ted Stevens. Colin who?

So Ted Stevens' trial is over.

Caught, prosecuted, tried, convicted in short order.

Fine.

What about Congressman William Jefferson, he who was caught with $90,000 in bribe money - cash! - hidden in his freezer? Why haven't we heard anything about him going to trial yet?

Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

you gotta admire getting a military escort to recover the loot   usually you think of a third world african nation in conjunction with something like that
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

He has his election to win first, and after all the FBI gave him the money.  I am sure lots of you will have experienced government agencies desperate to give you all someone elses money (and if you havent, you probably will after Nov 4th).

He survived a plane crash - can he survive this ?

Funny Mr Stevens is getting a public hanging over some "expensive gifts" - all of $250K; while people like Douglas Feith and Sandy Berger who were engaged in far more serious activities were given a very quiet free pass.
