Man, there's a lot of nonsense about guns popping up just now. As usual, the people that actually point out how a gun works are "deflecting". ;/

Also, added before an APS pedant chimes in: =D
I will give someone the benefit of the doubt if they have zero firearms knowledge and some cop or somebody tells them the Glock has no safety, and because of the design, yeah, it does kinda look like a Glock "fires when you pull the trigger". Once dozens of people have explained the mechanism though, it's time to backtrack. Some of these people act like a thumb safety is some stealth secret thing that no one would see or be able to figure out.

Could this be labeled as "tardsplaining"?
-
Conversely, the gun only fires when the trigger is pulled.

That kind of gun can't be legal, can it?

Wonder why he wasn't concerned about all the other officers who carried guns that fired when you pulled the trigger? I guess that wasn't sensational enough.

Dupe topics merged.
I could have started mine in RT instead of politics, but it was kind of a timing issue with me. With the current legislation in Congress, the crazies are really going all out with the gun hysteria, so politics seemed apropos.

Wait till they find out about the Sig 320
I had a criminal trial where the prosecutor asserted a charge of child endangerment by the licensed gun carrier being in the room with a child while having a such a gun that could just go off at anytime.
During the 'hair trigger' demonstration by the 'firearm expert' law enforcement officer, it took the townie cop 4 tries to fire. And that was with him purposely trying to pull the trigger.

So your client was convicted, then?

Not for lack of trying and all sorts of shenanigans; I counted some 40+ instances of prosecutorial misconduct; my favorite of which was stealing evidence. It was a 4 day trial and by the end of it the jury was openly making fun of him and the Judge. After the verdict, he actually polled the jury. He was pushed to finally retire within two months.
I hear he may become the new Judge...

Wait till they find out about shotgun "release triggers."
Or that bananas are radioactive.

REF :

Kinda blathery and preachy, but the kernel is:
What is a release trigger? It simply is a trigger that is first set (pulled and held back) and then released when the gun is to be fired. That sounds horribly confusing as it is exactly backwards from what we consider “normal” operation, but it really is not all that challenging IF your mind is “right.” My first time using a release was about 25 years ago when I bought an engraved 1986-vintage Krieghoff KS-5 trap gun that came with a release hook (more on the parts involved later) already in place. Those old guns could be changed from a pull trigger to a release trigger by simply turning an Allen® screw in the trigger.
