I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I wonder if the same people will hide MLK on George's birthday? ;/
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.
I meet lots of folks like this, claim to be anarchist but really they're just liberals with pierced genitals. - gunsmith

Also, from the comments on the first story:

I just went to the S. Car site, looked at 53 pictures of the event, and the "event graphic" that was the "reason" for covering up GW was a blue background. Can a single color be a "graphic"?

Not that the left is anti-American, or anything.

Looks like the armband reads "NAACP".

I thought it said something else but I think you're right.

Like what? NSDAP? I'm trying to think of a good political group that resorted to armbands, drawing a blank.

odd no pics from the front? curious that
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

It appears that the graphic wasn't completed on time.  Poor planning there.

This link has some pictures of the front.  It was plain blue background used as a backdrop for the podium.

That being said, hasn't the NAACP done something more annoying this week then maybe/maybe not slighting our first president?  I would much rather take them to task for helping widen and deepen the lines of racial tension, and consistently trying to enable a welfare class.

if they wanted to hide a slave owner   i can't fault em.  if they went to ferry farms his childhood home they would find it whiter now than it was then  though one thing did stay the same  the lone brother works in the gardens and has for decades

The cynic in me says they covered Washington to draw attention from the fact that they failed to get the Confederate Battle Flag removed from the building behind them.  It seems to me if they're worried about slave imagery that would be a bigger one.

You should. There are slave owners, and then there is George Washington. You don't cover up Washington.

Sure, because the man most responible for creating one of the greatest individual liberty experiments in human history should be remembered for his faults and not his achievements.

Yep.  He didn't fix it all in his lifetime (heck, it should have been done in a freakin' weekend!), so he's a terrible person.

Better add Gandhi to that, too.

And, who was that black guy?  Oh yeah:  Martin Luther King Jr.

Correct, MLK Jr. ought to be excoriated as a philanderer, have CNNMSNBCABCCBS to revisionist hit pieces on him, and not remembered as a wildly successful civil rights pioneer.  >:D
