Hands down my favorite bird.  There was a nesting pair on the ATC tower in Salt lake when I worked in the radar room there.  It wasn't uncommon for them to nail pigeons in our parking lot.

Over 200mph in a dive.  They intercept their food mid-flight and kill it by hitting it so hard.

Recalling from my childhood interest, it's 230 mph as a top speed.

230 mph. Fastest living thing until about 80 or so years ago.
