So I'm driving west on 44th Avenue coming out of Golden and in Wheat Ridge I spot a laundromat I never noticed before. Since I usually drop off my laundry, I made a note of it to try them out, but I noticed they had an error in their signage.
It wasn't until about five blocks later that I "got" it. The sign said,
rop off
D
Laundry
I gotta try them out, now.

Oooooookay. I got that drop off "d" laundry part BUT it reads as "Rop off" and that ruined the pun for me and I was looking for something more... Just not my brand of humor I guess.

Years ago a new business opened up in a strip mall not to far from me. The name was:
Vide (a circle safe combination dial was here)
Vault
My wife and I looked at that for the longest time trying to figure out what a vide vault was. She then looked at me and said video vault. Duh!! They went out of business, I guess no one else could figure out what a vide vault was.

The D was "dropped".
I understand, I just don't find it funny or a very good pun.

There used to be an interior lighting store in Plano Texas called Light Motif.
Which I always assumed was a pun on "leitmotif"
