It's good to start at the top.

Why bother rising through elected office--it's such a boring process--when you can just start with the U.S. Senate like your uncle Teddy?

People like Caroline and Hillary mock America.

And why exactly would she deserve such a seat?

Legislative accomplishments?  Military service that shows distinction of character and sound judgement?  Passionate crusading for a particular cause?

Or... could it just be cuz she's a Kennedy?

Two reasons:  she's a member of America's royal family, and she got on the Obama wagon early.  So, selecting Clinton as SecState served two purposes:  it neutralized Clinton as anything but an Obama stooge (she can't run for office and she can't build a power base as a Senator), and gave Kennedy the opening she wanted.

So why didn't Hillary turn it down?

Do you suppose any of the owners of those respective hearts would remember Vince Foster and pass at the job?

Okay, that's just morbid and beyond even what a Clinton would imagine.

Single assassination?  Maybe.

Double?  Ludicrous.

Triple-hit on the Prez, Veep and Speaker?  Hollywood couldn't come up with a passable plot for that, let alone reality do so with an FBI-proof result.

And... I doubt a Clinton would want to be Prez in a situation where the former prez/veep/speaker had all been whacked by an external power.  We'd probably be talking about DC getting nuked at that point.

She wants a place in history as something other than a "also ran" and "Bill's wife."  She was a Senator and had clout, but she's in the "John Kerry club" now.  This gives her a chance to start over.

Besides, Saros might have offered to help pay off her debts if she did the honorable thing and signed on.

Hey! The last I heard, France actually likes America again.

Did they get a bailout too?

How could that happen?  He's pickled, therefore preserved forever.

Is it sad when I'm trying to rationalize that to something past tragic??

I can still remember my Dad, when Bentsen told Quayle "You're no Jack Kennedy," roaring at the television "Thank God for that!  The last thing we need is another God damned Kennedy!"

Dad was right.
Gee, I'd love to see your data!
