Sure beats the time I sent out press releases to the effect that pi had finally been discovered to be a rational number in the 10 trillionth (or whatever) decimal place. Actually got published in an Australian newspaper. (I had sent it out to 50 newspapers across the world.)
Funny thing is a
rival newspaper down there in Oz called me on the phone to verify the story and I couldn't keep a "straight face" while they interviewed me and I broke up and 'fessed up. They later printed a story as to how their competitors (the paper which had printed the story) were lax in fact-checking.
That's my greatest downfall as a prankster. I cannot keep a straight face when challenged.
