neat.  Kind of expensive though.  Wonder what the "street price" will be.

And they are also forgetting the Ruger 10/22 Charger...that uses any 10/22 mag, from the 10 round factory mags to the 25 round Butler Creek and higher capacity mags...

Not really.  They're saying it beats the magazine capacity of auto pistols, not that it has a magazine.

Marketing pass, actually. Manedwolf fail.

A revolver cylinder is, strictly speaking, a magazine.

A magazine is only a storage place for ammunition, such as the internal box magazine on a Mauser-style rifle, the internal rotary magazine of a Savage 99, the detachable magazine "clip" from a semi-automatic pistol, or the cylinder of a revolver.

I have never heard a cylinder called a "magazine". A box, yes, a tube, yes, not a cylinder.

Also, it's not even a correct claim. I've seen the new GSG-5 pistols with 22rd magazines.

So would a speed loader be a clip? :)

"I have never heard a cylinder called a "magazine". A box, yes, a tube, yes, not a cylinder."

Obviously.

That doesn't change the fact that the cylinder of a revolver is, as I said, strictly speaking, a magazine.

Just because it's not called a magazine in general usage doesn't deny its function.

Yes.

No different than the Mauser stripper clip.

I read that differently than Maned.  I read it as a boast that that pistol holds more rounds than any autoloader magazine, not that they were referring to the cylinder as a magazine.

Well, that might have been true a year or so ago.

the GSG-5 is a pistol?  I thought it was a MP-5 lookalike.

You can buy them as a pistol or a rifle. They've been selling like crazy here. I am not impressed with the quality, it's like an airsoft gun that shoots .22, but they're selling lots of them!

Didn't the Grendel hold around 30 rounds of .22 mag back in the day?

Yes it did.  And there have been a couple of .22 pistols with 15rd mags.  There are also some conversion kits available for HiPowers that hold 14 rds.

I like the idea of the pistol, but that price is well out of range for what I can/will pay.  I'd rather have a much cheaper 6 shot.  Looks like most everything on that site is on the expensive side.

Interesting concept....but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired....I'd rather have a Bearcat-sized sixgun in 6-8 rounds than a SAA-sized (& weight) gun any day...

I'm with you.  Nice looking gun but for $750 there are a whole lot of other guns that I would get first.  A 22mag version would be intriguing, not enough to buy, but intriguing all the same.

I'm sure part of the reason U.S. Firearms is so highly regarded is its high end pricing.

I've always wondered that myself... I mean, come on, we have 17 round 9mm pistols and 14 round .45ACP pistols...how many .22LR rounds can you fit in the same space?

In handguns probably due to single stack magazines and don't want magazine sticking out, probably need to be single stack because of .22 is a rimmed cartridge, just my 2 cents thinking.
