Another Rhodes scholar customer
« on: March 30, 2011, 01:43:23 PM »
Where do these people come from? This email from this morning is just classic.

"I'm interested in getting your lazer grips for my Kimber custom TLE II. Is there a gun dealer in Jacksonville, Fl. that carries your grips in stock. I would like to look, feel, touch and admire them on my Kimber II pistol, before I spend my hard earn money.
I would be happy to except a free set and be glad to show them off at the gun shows and shooting ranges and gun dealers and to my friends.
Maybe they will purchase them your e-mail site if you forward your business cards as well.
I have a feeling all I'm going to get is the dealer information from you, but that alright. I may buy them when I can see, feel and uses them. After all that was how I selected my Kimber II."

He'd be happy to "except" a free set. I'm sure that Crimson Trace would bend over backwards to get this sort of promotion.

$1 says he's a Democrat. ;)

You mean to tell me that you don't personally make those grips?  Nor do you give away them away so people can try them, an possible sell them for you?  I am shocked!

Scary part is, his vote counts the same as yours....LOL

Email him back. Tell him that had he chosen to "accept" the grips you might have been able to help him to get a free set.

Tell him you'll be glad to send him the grips if he'll send you a non-refundable deposit of $(grip price plus shipping).

$1 that he is really shrewd, or an absolute moron. The writing capability indicates the latter.

No, it's not for me or for millions of other site owners.

I think I just attract morons. They don't need a search engine, they find me by smell or something.

To emit a moron smell, wouldn't one have to actually be a.....um......never mind.

Guess that's expected when you build a business model on top of the whims of another independent, private corporation.

The business model wasn't built upon their whims. It was built around paid ads as well as organic search. I'm afraid I can't alter the fact that Google has 70%+ of the search engine market, nor that a higher percentage of conversions (sales) come from Google than from Bing, Yahoo or even from paid ads.

Send him an empty box and when he writes to complain, tell him that they are at his local dealer.  You could probably string this guy along for a while.....

Make sure the moccasins are extra small....

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.
