Plans for dumbbell rack
« on: May 02, 2005, 05:25:31 AM »
My wife has gotten on a fitness-kick, and among other things she has quite a number of dumbbells (not including her husband!) laying around.  I'd like to put them in a rack for her and am considering building one myself since I can't find one with the features she needs.

I'm thinking of a pyramid shape with pegs to hold the bells, the whole thing mounted on a platform with wheels so she can move it out of the way when she's not using them, but roll them to where ever she wants when she does use them.  She currently has a pair each of 5, 8, 10, 12, and 15 lb bells with plans to add 20's in the near future, so it has to be pretty sturdy.

I have pretty basic hand power tools (drill, circular saw, saber saw)  and I'm pretty handy.

Thoughts?
