I used to work a job where just about 90% of my coworkers were black, and it got to the point where they were calling me nigga. Now, I'm Irish, which means my skin has two tones--ghost white and lobster red, but the word was so pervasive they were used to calling every single friend they had their nigga. And this isn't at Stop & Shop, this was in an office with a dress code. To be honest, they used the word so much out of work and on smoke breaks I can't believe they never used it with a customer.
I've never been called "my kike" or "my chink" by my other friends.
Now, I still think this non-binding resolution is a load of crap.... But as a white guy who's been raised to think the N-word is not something you say to people, it was seriously weird as hell the first time someone passed my desk on the way out for the night and said "Pat, my nigga, wake up!"
