https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2018/05/22/what-happened-to-maga-more-americans-watched-royal-wedding-than-alabama-georgia-game/That wedding in Blighty got more eyeballs than a football game, so America is finished, and the revolution was fought in vain. My thoughts below.
1. The wedding was covered by 15 channels, according the article, and when I was flipping through the stations in my (American) hotel room this weekend, I saw it being re-broadcast later in the day. I'm going to assume the 29 mil includes that, since the original broadcast was during the American wee hours.
2. There are many games every season, but weddings between handsome princes that are also military helicopter pilots, who cradle third-world babies in their arms; and beautiful American chicks, are somewhat less common than that.
3. I'm pretty sure the Patriots of 1776 were not fighting for their right to ignore television coverage of royal pageantry. Is Prince Harry taxing your imports or exports? No? Then why does it bother you?
4. Speaking of 1776, this country did once manage to be great without football, unless it was that British kind of football. I bet we could somehow manage without it, again.
Also, while the wedding was on TV, I found it useful to remind my wife that, while I'm neither a prince, nor wealthy, and I do not fly a chopper, I do possess a full head of hair.
