  • I spent a week in that town one night....
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Didn't make me sign up.  Interesting reading.  There are some folks at work that I'd like to slap upside the head with some of these, but I'd get shown the door.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

Won't let me in without signing up.

I got the "sign up" popup, but just Xed out of it and got straight to the article.

I wish I had had a leader like him in Vietnam, instead of some of the asshats I served under.

Worked good on PC.  Couldn't see the "x" on my phone.

I couldn't see the x on my phone, either.  So I just entered my go to email address for junk...fart21@ whichever .com comes to mind.  Hasn't failed me yet.

As to the article, good stuff.

From what I've read about Mattis I wonder if maybe the "Mad dog" label was intended as a a bit of a joke.
I've also heard him referred to as  the " Warrior Monk".
I like the attitude, I really don't want to fight, but if you force it on me I'll *expletive deleted*ck you up so bad your ancestors will hurt.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Couple interesting ones; reaffirms what I've heard about Mattis.

But holy cow; loading that one page was painful.  That website is garbage!

It pops up in my facebook feed all the time, it's just clickbait garbage masquerading as military news.

The best way to get to know Mattis is the WSJ interview he gave. Incredible 40+ minute insight into the man.
