Whatever Happened to Saddam Hussein's Trial?
« on: September 03, 2006, 09:38:57 PM »
It seems to me that it was quite some time ago that Saddam Hussein's trial was all over except for the verdict, with hanging required to happen within 30 days if the sentence was for death.  And I haven't seen anything at all about his trial or a verdict since then.  Did I miss something?

No verdict yet.

A second trial has started, for another massacre conducted at his behest. This one was the gassing of the Kurds, iirc.

There will be several, to cover all the groups that he brutalized over the years.

I drove by his jail on a daily basis when I was there. They wouldn't let me in to say hi though undecided

It was replaced with the John Mark Carr debacle.  Amazing how little it takes to satiate us, huh?
