And yet one of the stars from Lost who is 51 married a 16 year old girl in Vegas just the other day.  Her parents signed off on the marriage. :facepalm:

I believe that is in part a publicity stunt, in order for people on a national scale to hear her name since she is getting ready to release her first country single.

There was a guy who lived around here who was kicked out of the army for having consensual sex with a girl who was lower rank than him.  Mind you, they were both ADULTS having a consensual relationship.  Because of some awkward NYS law regarding what is considered a sex offense, he was placed on the registry.  Something about committing any "crime" in any jurisdiction other than NYS (The US Army apparently considered his actions "criminal" against Army "law") that was sexual in nature.  There was a big hullabaloo and trial which ended up with the judge saying that as the law was written, he had to be placed on the registry.  :facepalm:
On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

vis a vis the offender list its equally obscene to me that a genuine rapist with a good lawyer can, and often does, get a plea bargain to keep his name off the list
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.
