That's not what I expected when I heard there was going to be a protest.

??? What the *expletive deleted* is in the water up there?
-
There is something significantly wrong with the folks planning to carry out this "protest" - but whatever that is seems to be left behind in the dust by some of the commenters.
While I generally think of the "open carry movement" as the attempt to normalize the lawful carry of properly holstered handguns, I understand the inclusion of long guns in the open carry effort to show that non-military and non-police can be both safe and non-threatening while exercising the right to bear arms.
The amount of "terror" expressed by opponents, based on what may happen, always astounds me because it fails to recognize the documented risks of causing deaths and blood to run in the streets by such things as the public use of automobiles and the public wearing of sports team-themed clothing.
Thank goodness I live in a region where a well-modulated "Well, I never!" is considered the height of approbation.
stay safe.

"Wisconsin's open carry law simply puts municipal police officers in an impossible situation: it can lead citizens and police officers to ignore individuals carrying weapons into highly congested areas (such as a farmer's market) creating the opportunity for those individuals to carry out mass shootings defend against mass shootings that occur with no warning."
Fixed that.

So, do these people already own the chickens? Or are they getting me supplied. Something tells me the cops could probably hold out for cruelty to animals with more than a few of them.
-
I have no words....
-
Fixed that.
Yes, you sure did.
What has been left unmentioned is that by toting the chicken with them, they are increasing the average intelligence of the group.

They didn't mention anything about choking them ...

Dear Moonbats,
There is a law that says "No live chickens at the Farmer's Market". However, there is no law (and in fact an amendment, #2 in fact)* that says that they can not open carry firearms in Wisconsin.
Get over it.
-'Murican.
*eta: Its that better?

It occurs to me that gun owners should support the protesters right to carry chickens while making it clear that they expect the chicken carriers to support them in return.

"A group wanting to change firearms open-carry in the state plans to carry a live chicken through the farmers market, in violation of an Appleton ordinance prohibiting live chickens within city limits."
OC is and has always been legal in WI. The chicked carriers are protesting OC, illegally I might add.
There's little point in wasting ones time negotiating with these imbeciles.

Everyone needs a Barbeque Chicken to open carry to shindigs

BBQ Chicken Gun?

100% agree. Nothing like marching in Solidarity with them. Signs, Banners, the whole nine yards, while open carrying (guns only, no chickens. Let the Moonbats carry the chickens.) That will upset their apple cart. And make their heads explode.

If I have a barbecued chicken, what do I need a shindig for? I can eat at home.
