So what's our most effective response?
« on: November 05, 2008, 11:20:11 AM »
Obviously Obama and the Dem's will be trying to ram as much Marxism down our throats as possible. A whole lot of anti-freedom legislation is coming down the pike. Bitching and moaning is fun and all, but what is our most effective strategy to try to minimize the damage they can do?

What can one do?  I'm working on personal independence from multiple angles, but this is only so effective as I am *not* independently wealthy.

I'd love to say "Fine - do what you want, but I won't be part of it!", but this is not how the world works.  If you work for a paycheck, then you will pay taxes (increasingly high taxes) into the socialist state.

1. Rearrange the republican Party to destroy the neocon influence

THEN

2. take back White House and Congress,

THEN

3. Destroy the welfare state.

I say we let 'em. Some of the "swing voters" are going to get awful disturbed when their income actually becomes redistributed, etc... He's going to have a four year presidency - OR - and this is a definite consideration, his handlers will move EVERYTHING toward the middle of the road, in hopes of actually getting folks reelected next time.

If Democrats moved toward middle of the road, and left the second amendment alone, I'd vote for them.

If Republicans moved toward middle of the road, and left the second amendment alone, I'd vote for them.

Yes, but that would be EXTREME. And EXTREME is BAD.

At this point, I think all we can really do is try to survive - keep food on the table, keep your paycheck coming in, and try to get a true conservative on the plate in 2012.  And, VOTE in 2010!!!

The storm is brewing, and it will get far worse once it hits.  But, there *is* sunshine on the other side!

To rebuild the GOP based off the principles that brought us a balanced budget in the 90's, and pick up the pieces in 4 years.  No more moderate candidates.  Fiscal conservatives who believe in limited government.

The following video gives a good idea:
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YWEwNTRmNmRhYTUxOGYwMzk5ZTllMGRlNWEyYmFkYzQ=
(Video at link has some profanity, it coming from the Deadwood tv series.)

"The world ends when your dead.  Until then, you got more punishment in store.  Stand it like a man and give some back."

My prescription would be:
1. Opposition begins today.
2. No honeymoon for BHO in Congress or anywhere from conservatives or Republicans
3. Anticipate the accusations of racism and throw them back in the face of the MSM and Dems.  Be exceedingly aggressive and retaliate against any such insinuation.
4. Block every appointment to the fullest extent possible on ideological grounds.  No gimmes like McCain did for Clinton & Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
5. Filibuster, filibuster, filibuster.

Freedom. Liberty. Individuallism. That's the best response.

Remember that "all politics is local", and the most local is YOU. Just because the sociopolitical current runs one way doesn't mean you have to.

Unplug your TV.
Grow your own food.
Own your home outright.
Be frugal.
Buy friend-to-friend.
Minimize retail purchases.
Buy used.
Fix stuff.
Homebrew.
Reload.
Get alternative power.
Know the law in detail.
Run for office.

You don't have to move to Galt's Gulch to live like you do.
So long as you participate in "their" system, you play by their rules and pay their piper.

3. Destroy the welfare state.

#1 will be the most important step. And, if they don't flush out the liberal-light-neo-con's from the party, then we need to let the GOP know that we'll make our own party & flush them...
