As the experience of the American Catholic Church shows, this stuff eventually comes out.

I remember reading about these issues, probably over ten years ago. There was a group of victims calling for the SBC to make a registry of clergy who had committed wrongdoing, and make it available for vetting applicants by churches, which I thought was very reasonable. They didn't saying each church is independent.
True, but that doesn't justify doing nothing. ;/
The SBC has been making a lot of bad decisions for a while now.

From what I hear, the leadership has joined the parade of evangelicals gone woke.

SBC churches don't listen to the leadership. It's a bottom-up organization and the national leaders have no authority. If heretics take over the national convention, they cannot force it down to the state conventions, and the state conventions can't force anything down to the churches. I think that's why nobody has tried. Doesn't mean they are immune to corruption, tho'.

When do we see the report for the sexual abuse of children in CPS custody?
As far as I know the prevalence is several orders of magnitude larger.
