We're out of the Paris Climate Accord.
Holy *expletive deleted*ck did my stocks go up in the last hour of trading!

Again, he will go down as the only politician who once voted into office has kept his word.
It's going to be really hard not to vote for him in 2020...
-
And Elon Musk, the Tesla billionaire, said he was quitting advising the White House, tweeting: 'Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world.'
Is it a co-inkeedink that Elon Musk happens to sell electric cars?
Didn't think so.
-
I am enjoying the renewed flow of liberal outrage. All the usual suspects hate the decision which only reinforces my happiness.
-
The angst hasn't been this sweet since November 9th. I recommend the reddit comments on any given trump tantrum thread. The 1600 was a fine vintage for only 6 hours ago >:D

His motives are pretty obvious, and I expected similar from those hip & image-conscious companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook. I was surprised and a bit puzzled to see the heads of ConocoPhillips, Exxon & Dow Chemical supporting the agreement though.

Follow the money.

Somebody thought it would be a good idea to get everyone on the side of the global warmers by showing what would happen to DC if sea level drastically rose.

Their companies have undoubtedly invested in technologies aimed at mollifying the climate change fanatics, and now they fear the investments may not pay off (at least not as quickly as they hoped). Nothing is stopping any company from going ahead with "clean" technology if they really believe that's what the future of the planet requires. Their big problem is that now the feral government won't be forcing people to buy and use their new technology.
Boo hoo.

Yeah I have no doubt they've hedged their bets a bit with some clean tech, doing so is a smart business move. However, I wouldn't have expected it to be enough to outweigh the investments they have in fossil fuels and continuing business as usual.

You mean they had implemented the Solyndra business model? >:D

I really love this Sean Spicer parody account that is always featured on Twitchy. Reels them right in everytime.

Also, the countries in the Accord who are saving the Earth this way (number of new coal plants):

Ted Cruz zings Elon Musk

I guess we finally have proof that Trump is in over his head, incompetent and completely unsuited to be president. He completely failed to properly destroy the world yesterday. It was still here when I woke up this morning. I thought I was finally going to get a day off from work, but no he can't even destroy the world properly.

Another "very bad thing" about the Paris Accords was that they were designed in part to circumvent the U.S. Senate, and were in many ways geared towards an Executive like Obama, who would be happy to either push as far as he could, or actually engage in extra-Constitutional/unconstitutional bureaucratic rulemaking to get it done.
So even if a President like Trump wouldn't make those rules, or rolled them back, or ordered they be ignored, it would have emboldened/empowered the next Obama to make full use of it.
-
Trump might as well go ahead and destroy the world. >:D There is no way doing so could possibly make the left hate him more than they already do.

But doing it slowly piece by piece is so much more entertaining

Moron NYC mayor, right after telling NYC citizens to step up and do "little things" (like take public transportation) to "save the planet" if Trump won't, is asked why he won't take public transportation to the gym every day instead of an SUV: "Because it would be cheap symbolism." I guess that also explains Gore, DeCaprio, etc.

Excellent. He doesn't realize how he's just served his country with this public, and nearly text-book example of limousine (SUV) "liberalism." Thank you, Mr. Mayor.
And now, for a nice example of specious reasoning "liberalism" -

Comment on Ted versus Joyce:
"This would have only been better if he’d said something about how much she paid for her fancy education and how much he paid for his library card..."
Immortalize that one! Quickly!

One of the hypocrites complaining is of course, Hillary Clinton. The URL below mentions something I hadn't heard of before. She took a private jet to a fundraiser 20 miles from where she was. If nothing else (and Fly320s should jump in here), even with Secret Service priority, you have to drive to the airport, board the plane, taxi, takeoff, land, taxi, deplane, drive to the fundraiser. Did she even save any time versus taking maybe twice as long than driving?

20 miles? No way she could fly that quicker than driving unless there was serious traffic or other delays. Maybe she wanted to have the plane with her because she was flying somewhere else after. Still... 20 miles is close. Where was she?

It seems she was on Martha's Vineyard (an island), and the event was on Nantucket (a different island). So the option of driving meant driving in a boat, not a car. That, depending on the boat, likely would have taken a bit longer than a plane. IMHO it would also be more relaxing.
But, of course, there's that Russian conspiracy to be worried about. Perhaps the Secret Service had intel that a Rooshan submarine was lurking, prepared to torpedo any boat that Hillary might take between the islands.
She didn't take a Piper Cub, either. For that 20-mile hop, she took a twin-engine, luxery executive jet.

Ah, okay. I hadn't seen that. As much as I want to bash her, hard to do so under those circumstances. If I call out fake news on the left, I gotta call it out on the right.

Oh, go right ahead. I wouldn't fault you for suggesting that a Learjet or Gulfstream is just a wee mite excessive to hop between two tiny islands off the coast of Cape Cod. At the speed that plane flies, the pilot probably didn't have time to put the landing gear up. I can see flying, but an executive jet is not appropriate.

I agree. The plane was the best option for her.

Not at all. Odds are Hillary flew somewhere else after that, so having that plane with her makes sense. And, I assume, that plane is paid for with private money.

I believe she returned to Martha's Vineyard to continue Bill's birthday festivities. She's a remarkable woman, taking valuable time away from her family to hop a whole 20 miles to deliver a speech. How many other politicians wouldn't have done that?

Is that true? In that case, she is the most amazing, selfless, kind, caring, loving, courag...
Nope, can't type it with a straight face,

Sure you can. Keep trying ...

I thought Hawaii had a bunch of those little island-hopping airlines, some of which must have smaller executive jets. Almost like bus routes, and they fly up and down the island chain from the Big Island to Guam or the furthest island (Kure Atoll) or whatever, and then back again.
Fifteen hundred miles total one-way.
I believe Alaska and some of the northern regions of Canada have similar situations, as well as Africa, so it must be a viable business model.
Maybe she just got on a sort of "aerial bus," got dropped off on the next island, and it continued on its route...?
I'm not too sure of the comparison, what with the distances involved, and I'm NO DEFENDER OF HILLARY, but I wonder if someone isn't making a mountain out of a molehill and lying by omission, and we got suckered into picking up on it.
We have propaganda-mongers on our side, too, y' know.

1) she flew in a private jet.
2) Martha's Vineyard (island) to Nantucket..

Try it with a straight finger, the middle one.
