Been Invited to a Guy Fawke's Night Party
« on: October 18, 2011, 01:55:33 PM »
Of course, it is BYOE.

Any suggestions as to which effigy I ought to bring to the bonfire (if I do not run with the traditional choice)?

Traditional Choice:

Some possibilities:
Karl Marx
Woodrow Wilson
FDR
LBJ
Jean Jacques Rousseau
Earl Warren
Teddy Kennedy (easily manufactured with a couple of white pillow cases and a miniature donkey figureine; given he was bloated, pasty, and always chasing *expletive deleted*ss)
Jimmah
John Maynard Keynes
Betty Friedan
Leo X

How about something really evil -- "Barney" the purple dinosaur?  ;)

FDR should be pretty easy.  A wheel chair and a long cigarette holder.

Oh.  Effigy. whew.

On the first reading that is NOT what I thought the E in BYOE to a Guy Fawkes party would be.

I was thinking to myself "Well gunpowder would be traditional, but something high order would be nice as parliment buildings have gotten tougher.  Do you have an fissile material?"

But then I read you want an effigy.  Can't really help there.

In that case, Terrell Bolton.  Or John Wiley Price.

Terrell Bolton could be a rag doll effigy, as he shrank so much as chief.

Maximilian Robespierre - he'd be honoured by the irony.

"Human existence being an hallucination containing in itself the secondary hallucinations of day and night (the latter an insanitary condition of the atmosphere due to accretions of black air) it ill becomes any man of sense to be concerned at the illusory approach of the supreme hallucination known as death."

A Michael Moore effigy would require the most material by far . . .
