Never even heard of Postaroo, or used Craigslist.

No loss for me.

But I am saddened by the growth of organizations (papers, TV, internet sites) that will not allow ads for or discussions of guns.  'Tis the future, I fear.

Asian teen sex slaves in "massage parlors" are advertised on craigslist
& they think it's ok.  Yet they do their darndest to stop anyone
from selling guns.

I actually see Craigslist's point of view, though their policy is annoying.  As owners and operators of the list, they have to decide what they will and will not accept.  They accept sex ads, while other outfits do not.  They don't accept firearm ads, while other outfits do.  There are serious insurance and liability considerations to weigh, and if I was their attorney I might well advise them to adopt a policy against allowing firearm ads.  It's a specialized area with a lot of confusing laws and regulations probably best left to gunbroker, guns america, auction arms and the many other speciality sites.

Well, CL is based in CA, If I'm not mistaken, so their attitude is...not much of a surprise. If only we could hand CA over to Mexico to make up for TX.

I've never even heard of the other place. No loss.

What do you mean by "to make up for Texas"?

Why would Texas need to be made up for?

Yes but isn't CL based in San Fran, so that would only make hetro sex illegal, right?

It's my understanding that TX was a part of Mexico until the 1830s. I could be mistaken, as I only lived there for a year. Either way, they're welcome to CA. I note that you're not objecting to that.  grin

O.k., I misunderstood your point. My bad.

Yes, Texas was part of Mexico, and yes they are welcome to California. That said, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California and (I think) portions of Colorado, Nevada and Utah were all the same chunk of land taken from Mexico in the war you reference.

Let's go ahead and throw in New York city, DC, Chicago, downstate Massachussets, and upstate Connecticut as long as we're feeling generous.

If they want to get rid of more of their arid land and poor people, we could take their northern semi-desert area bordering west Texas/New Mexico/Arizona in exchange.

We'd come out far the better in that deal, I think. They can have the *rich morons, and we'll take the paupers with a good work ethic.

*Not that being rich makes you a moron.

I like the way you think, Stand_watie. Wouldn't it be easier, though, to just ship all the anti-RKBA/Crypto-Socialists who infest those states off to Canada? Then we'd have more room for the aforementioned paupers with a good work ethic.

And, on a racial note (and not meant as offensive): 95% of the hispanic folks I met in TX were reasonable folks with a good work ethic who just wanted to better themselves, whether they were legally in the country or not. This was a higher percentage than I encountered in the non-hispanic population. That's hardly a statistically significant sample size, and my methodology is completely unscientific, but I still become very annoyed when folks in Indiana (where I now live) cite "Illegals taking our jobs" as their reason for supporting a fence across the border and a freeze on immigration. I say let 'em move North, make their way, and d----d be anyone who opposes the pursuit of happiness.

The only problem with your idea there, is that the majority of Albertans, Manitobans, Sasquatchewanese, and a substantial minority  of Nova Scotians and New Brunswickians  (also called Newfies) would make better Americans than Californians or even than other Canadians.

If we're to be totally fair, this could get a little bit complicated now. Alberta, Manitoba and Sasquatchewan could easily be carved off and folded into the upper midwest (let's say in exchange for upper new york, eastern michigan, northern ohio etc.), but how do we work the New Brunswickians and the Newfies into it? Perhaps the granola eaters in upper Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachussets could just swap land with them?

I don't know. I'm sure we could work it out.

I confess that my knowledge of Canada is sadly lacking, and so I'm inclined to believe you.

I'll tell you what: open the dialogue with Canada and I'll see what I can do to bring about the sort of change that will serve us all well. Smiley

I'd send them a reply that their terms of service, per http://www.postaroo.com/staticpages/TermCondition.php, does not mention guns, firearms, weapons, rifles, pistols, or shotguns.  It does ban sexually explicit, obscene, and pornographic which would cover the sex, and 'encourages drug use' is also listed.  However, the firearm you've removed is a LEGAL item that is legal to sell.

If you paid any money for the listing, I'd tell them that as they're changing the terms of service, you expect a refund.

I was under the impression that gun ownership is illegal, isn't that why ownership is down to 12% in New Jersey?  :)

Darn, now I have to go dig up a citation don't I?

..You must be joking. Minus the leftists, hippies, and illegals, CA is paradise on earth....

Other than the lovely climate, the mountains, the ocean, the desert, if you subtract the "leftists, hippies, and illegals", California would be even more a "paradise on earth" as it would have a population density like Alaska's.

Kind of like saying "Other than the Italians, Italy is paradise on earth", though.

Actually the reason Italy popped into my head as an example, is that I have had the impression that California and Italy have similar climates.
