Wow,,,

Imagine, you just paid $3.5 million for a violin and you're not telling anybody. Most of us would be going "WOO HOOOO!!! Look what I just bought!"

Hearing a Stradivarius in concert at least once should be on everyone's life "to-do" list.

The quality of sound is so incredible.

There are many things about which I have no knowledge, but how did I not know that that thing is just short of 300 years old?!?!?

That's a lot of dough. Now I know why Larry was so upset when Curly fell on and crushed Larry's Strativarius during that boxing match.

Especially if it's being played by Itzhak Perlman. If you've never seen him in concert, do so...

Quite a pricey instrument. And I thought the Steinway I'm lusting for at around 100K was expensive.

A guy I knew in high school has one.  I don't think he owns it; rather, it's on permanent loan.  Joe is a bluegrass fiddler, the best I've ever heard.  He's often the fiddle guy for a lot of big C&W stars (don't ask me who-some guys in cowboy hats Wink ).  I remember him playing it one night at a nightclub in Dayton called "Canal Street Tavern", with a so-so band called "Tripe" (also a bunch of guys I went to HS with).  Joe had a fiddle solo.  I can't remember how it sounded, but I remember how I felt.  It went right to your soul-like he was drawing the bow across your heartstrings.  I forgot to breathe, and tears came to my eyes.  I don't think there was a dry eye in the house-it hit everyone else too.  An incredible violinist playing a perfect instrument.

Whatever the price on a Strad, it's worth it, just to hear a grandmaster musician play it.
