Not the repercussions which will, of course, be brought up every time a headline is needed. I'm asking how the protest itself ended. From what I can find the Virginia and Maryland National Guard units were called out and arrived about the time the riot ended. I can't find any claims that the Capitol Police, or anybody else, arrested, drove out, or dispersed the rioters. I'm genuinely curious as to how or why the rioters stopped and left. Does anybody here know how it ended and what sources there are for the info?

Silly boy, it NEVER ended. It's a perpetual state of Trumpbellion, which needs to be perpetually crushed to protect democracy from Republicans.

Worse than Pearl Harbor and 9-11 combined. Almost as bad as 2016!

I thought most of them finished the tour and went out the door.

Our soon-to-be-ex Congresswoman posted in social media a thank you card she sent to the national guard for "saving their lives" on Jan 6. Oh, the drama.

That's kind of what I was wondering. Unlike some of the more enlightened protests that lasted for days or more, maybe they just decided they made their point and simply left. That would explain why there weren't dozens of them being led away in cuffs.

Just a few in body bags.

You mean the National Guard kept the Capitol Police from shooting her, too?

Or shoving her off a ledge.

Or shoving her off a ledge.
Oh, that made me laugh.
(I misremembered. It was thanks to the "officers who defended (https://www.facebook.com/RepCheri/posts/pfbid0KmfwV8SXcGzYnkXHHxz78my2AreKnuC7qXy8eeTpSWKmRfkBPX9yBiQZQ71hjgidl)the U.S. Capitol & saved my life, the lives of my colleagues & our staff on Jan. 6, 2021."
(She has her sycophant chorus. I'm not in it.)
