Does she carry a purse?  My wife keeps hers in her purse.  Nothing you can do really, just buy cheap phones.... and check the pockets when you wash.  I wouldn't make a big deal about it.. if the biggest problem in your marriage is buying a $20 phone every couple of months you've got a leg up on most couples.

other suggestions and punishments.

We have a Laundry Wench, a Cooking Wench, a Cleaning Wench, and various other wenches at The RocketMan Launch Center.

Actually, I'm usually so busy working both the full time day gig and the part time computer repair gig that I cannot assist said wenches as often as I would like.   But I help out where I can.   She understands.  Otherwise, I'd be a dead man.

Epoxy the dead phones to the outside of the washing machine.   It'll be a visual reminder every time a load of laundry is started.

I'm the Laundry Fairy* here at Festung Scout.

Rule#1.  If I find it in a pocket, It's mine to do with as I please.

*Laundry Fairy - Many moons ago Mrs Scout explained to our daughter that someone has to pick-up, sort, wash, dry, fold/hang and put away the laundry.  There is no "Laundry Fairy" that does it by magic, so our daughter is now old enough to handle the pick-up and put away part of the laundry cycle.  Since then whoever has been tasked with doing the laundry is referred to as the "Laundry Fairy."  Or in my case, "The Mean, Nasty Laundry Fairy that Yells and steals the babysitting money from my pockets."  =D =D =D

I do the laundry around here, and I gave up trying to set rules or even asking nicely with "please" at the end. However the clothes come off my wife's and oldest daughter's bodies is how they go in the washer. Mine, my almost-three-year-old son's, and my 14-month-old daughter's clothes get turned inside out, all fasteners done up, and pockets checked. The other two are old enough to remember to do it themselves and don't give enough of a damn to, so tough cookies for them.

Like the "Laundry Fairy" story. =)

It's a strange world. Some people get rich and others eat *expletive deleted*it and die. Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

Has anyone thought about what a fist full of Zardoz would look like?  Really thought about it?....  =|

Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

I'd be hard-pressed to find some place where I could get a hold and not get creeped out.

Oh, as to the phone-washing deal, just buy several phones that work on your network off the net from Craigslist, ebay, whatever.  Older phones are usually cheap.

Matter of fact, there are several folks like the Blind Center of Nevada that do the whole electronic recycling thing and will sell you one cheap.

Shucks.  I forgot that last suggestion.

I just picked up a Go Phone, and the wife is using my previous phone, which I hated.  The Go Phone is just slightly different enough that I might not hate it, but we now have three batteries and three chargers to share between the two phones.

And believe it or not, the guy at the ATT store actually told me about the switching-sim-cards-with-GoPhones thing.  Just said they couldn't sell me one for that purpose.

Did you open up the case and pack it full of sodium before you gave it to her?  That might make it more memorable next time.
