Apparently there is no uniformity of footwear.  I think those girls are marching to the strip club for the 2nd shift.

I thought he was American.   cheesy  Yeah, I know there is a difference, but don't you suppose Russians and Ukrainians can communicate?  I would have thought so.

I believe all Ukranians are taught Russian in school.  This girl I knew at UC Berkeley who grew up in the Ukraine in the 90s told me that was the case.  Though she said her Russian wasn't very good.

The picture is hosted over on THR, but there's no thread associated with it?

Well, truth be known...I posted it in the "testing" area just so I could grab the link. For some reason APS won't let me download (upload?) pictures. It keeps telling me something is full. I'd have to try again to see what the actual error is. So I been usin THR to put them up and then linking them over here.

And folks wondered why I loved Eastern Europe so much.  Cheap, delicious beer.  Cheap Soviet hardware.  And a lot of beautiful women.

If I would have known that, I would have taken my platoon and invaded eastern europe when I was stationed there in '88-'91 and started taking prisoners back for "Interrogation".    grin

Although the Bier in East Berlin was pretty bad compared to what was available in the West.  The food wasn't that great, but it was cheap.  Had a hard time finding anything to buy in the "shops".  Got nice Down comforters for something like 170 East German Marks or about $10 each.  The Ziess shop had absolutely empty shelves the first time we were there (but about 12 people were behind the counters, "working").  "Ve are vaiting vor a zhipment from der factory."  Next time we went there, I bought a nice set of bino's with the built in milspec compass (good for calling/adjusting artillery fire/airstrikes.), but it got lost/stolen with some other stuff when we shipped our Household Goods back to CONUS.

I don't want to even think about the women in East Berlin [......shiver]  All were.....well, think Concentration Camp Guards.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Some of the strippers here are from Ukraine but they speak Russian.  I know this because of . . . ummm, research I was doing for a case. angel
