I want to do some preliminary dialing in of the back up iron sights and the red dot (when I get one) of my new M4gery. Can anyone recommend a good laser boresight? The Amazon reviews of the $ 15 lasers that chamber into the rifle get mixed reviews at best. It would be a bonus if I could use the boresight for more than just my .223 rifles.

I usually just set the rifle on sandbags, then look down the bore and adjust the scope to match.

Especially with something like ar AR-15, where the open sight axis may be quite high off the bore axis, a bore sight that's coincident with the bore is probably the best way to go. I haven't used the LaserLyte brand, but this type of bore sight is suitable for multiple calibers by the simple expediant of swapping rubber O-rings on the shank.

I think mine is Bushnell, but pretty much any known brand will probably work.
