Well, after I figured out how to get the damn wifi to behave... I have one smart outlet going, and a camera pointing out the front window looking at the walk up to the front door. More on the way.

Are you strictly running the Geeni stuff off the phone app, or are you adding an Alexa (or other) to the mix?
-
Phone app at the moment. Should I figure on Alexa too?

I mean, every so often, I prop my Kindle's camera up, and do my special dance, so I figure that I've pretty much weirded out anyone who would be monitoring...

There's a movable physical block over the units with a camera. Is that a Geeni camera? On one of the Alexas with a screen you should be able to bring up the view from the camera. I have at least one of the hockey puck alexas in every room. Some have the tall Alexa. Some have multiples. A pair of the tall Alexas added to their subwoofer makes a very satisfying sound system. All I gotta do is say "Alexa, play the album "Animals" by Pink Floyd and I don't even have to get out of my chair.
If I'm walking with an armload of laundry into the garage where the washer is, I say "Alexa, turn on laundry". If it's too bright, "Alexa, laundry 40%" will dim the room nicely. Six color-changing BR-30 smart bulbs in the family room ceiling is loads of fun! Outside lights can be programmed to go on or off, change brightness or color, all by time or time offset from sunrise or sunset.

Well, the night vision mode sucks ass.
Going to have to find a different angle - the mechanic across the main road has some BIG LED security lights, and that zaps the picture...
My only "linked cameras" up until now are the Kindles...

Are his lights bright enough to light your area well enough to run the camera with the IR off?
-
Yeah, gonna figure out how to turn that mode off...
-
Okay, nighttime picture is better with the night vision turned off...
Overall, not bad for the budget price of $35/camera shipped...
