I don't think I commented on the former, and as for the latter, securing a perimeter at night requires a fire team, flares, and overwatch (range card optional).  Alone, I'm locking the doors and waiting for the cops.

If that is the same story I heard about yesterday (how many deaf people are shot in traffic stops?), I heard the guy declined to pull over for multiple miles.  He wasn't shot as soon as he got out of the car, there was some sort of physical struggle before that.  He also had some sort of criminal history with violence, but I don't recall what was mentioned.  The point of what I heard was the narrative being reported in the media was not true.

That is same story. The ommision of those prior problems is surely an accident

I'd say not using terror porn "ZOMG you could be shot if you hesitate a split second!" training would be a good start. Probably a lot fewer deaf guys getting shot, non English speaking Indian grandpas pile driven into quadrapalegicy, and girls in diabetic comas tased.

After the spray-&-pray, "shoot them to the ground" firearms training, this is by biggest LEO training pet peeve.....
