Americas enemies, including Iran and North Korea, appear to be orchestrating their own October Surprises. This is not in itself surprising, given that the Iranian leadership has stated that George Bush represents an aberration in American politics a man who wants to fight rather than submit to the Islamic Republic and the track record of elections like the one in Spain two years ago. To execute the strategy of the Global Jihad October Surprise, Americas enemies have enlisted the useful idiots of the MSM, who appear all too willing to cooperate in the anti-American venture, if it serves their political agenda.
Example I: The Iraq Tet Offensive
Tom Friedman reports on a Baghdad Tet Offensive in progress for the benefit of the suckers and / or co-conspirators in the MSM. The Jihadists specific aim is to carry out a media war to get Democrats into power, as they plainly state:
In the competition for the biggest October surprise of the 2006 election cycle, it might seem hard to top North Koreas nuclear test. This is because we can observe the effect that the media have on nations to make them either support or reject an issue.
It then explains that for jihadist videos of attacks on Americans to have the biggest impact, Some persons will be needed who are proficient in the use of computer graphics including Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, or other programs that the people of jihad will need to design & video clips about the operations.
Example II: North Korea and its nukes
North Korea has chosen October for its nuclear October Surprise, a potential series of nuclear explosions with timing as much political as it is technical. North Korea set off its first nuclear device on October 9. Now North Korea has told China it will set off more explosions, even as it appears to be preparing to do so, and word is that they could come at any time with little or no warning. Meanwhile, Jimmy Carter blames Bush, as do MSM outlets and leading Leftist funding sources.
Curiously, Iran thats the same Iran that is behind a good portion of the Baghdad Tet Offensive above distanced its own nuclear dispute from the North Korean crisis, reiterating its claim that it opposes nuclear weapons. All the more proof, in our opinion, that the clever fellows in Teheran, who have a history of cooperation with North Korea, are orchestrating this performance for the MSM, whom they are playing for the suckers and / or co-conspirators they are.
Example III: The MSM themselves play along
ABCs The Note states the case against the MSM, who appear obsessed with getting Democrats elected, yearn for the return of Clinton, and show absolutely no embarrassment or even awareness that Americas enemies are playing them like a fiddle.
Why do conservatives think the Old Media is biased against them? Lets see:
Could it be the New York Times poll suggesting GOP doom in Ohio?
Or the Washington Post measuring new drapes for Nancy Pelosi?
Or the Los Angeles Times casually outing senior Republican aides as gay?
Or the obsession with Obama for President?
Or the man Speaker Hastert terms an adviser to Bill Clinton, Richard Morris, declaring the House and Senate are going Democratic?
But it is more likely because of the press steady drumbeat on the Democrats-are-going-to-win-and-the-Iraq-war-is-going-badly-and-North-Korea-is-a-big-problem-and-House-leaders-knew-more-about-Foley-than-they-claim that is defining the meta-narrative for the midterms in the Old Media&.
Befitting the generation-long cycle of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton politics that has defined American life, Election Day Minus 20 brings us another marquee 43-42 matchup:
The big event in the Presidents day is, of course, his sit-down interview with ABC News George Stephanopoulos. Iraq, North Korea, Iran, the midterm election are all on the table&
And the other big event occurs when former President Bill Clinton speaks at a Center for American Progress conference at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The chatfest which also features Queen Noor of Jordan and Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-FL) was scheduled to begin this morning at 8:15 am ET&Per a Clinton intimate: Marking the 15th anniversary of his New Covenant speech, President Clinton will deliver a major address that will define the progressive governing philosophy that he employed with great success as president and during which America enjoyed unprecedented peace and prosperity in contrast to the extremist policies of the right-wing Republicans who have controlled Washington with such disastrous results. And he will talk about how we as a country get back to a time where our leaders govern based on reason and evidence not ideology and attack.
Wed be embarrassed to be the MSM, simply out of a sense of professionalism and a desire not to be used.
