He he!

Makes me think.  I don't think they teach DOS in school any more.  I think it's time to bring back the old "To fix your problem, boot to this disk and then type FORMAT C:\" gag.

Brad, it's hard to even find a bootable floppy with the required DOS utilities on it anymore.  Heck, two of my 4 computers don't even have floppy drives (and I can't remember when I last used the floppy drives I do have).

That's absolutely hilarious.  I had to remember my SQL for a second, but that's hilarious.

Does anyone remember the initial release of WordPerfect 5.0?

(or maybe it was 4.2...).

The installation instructions assumed you had a Brand New Computer, and started off with formatting the hard drive... Bad, bad instructional designer...

Idea, if you get stuff stolen from your cube a lot... Leave a disk sitting out with the autorun file set to trash things...

Yep.  That was my first foray into real wordprocessor-dom.  Fortunately for me it was already loaded.

I've been working with Word Perfect since version 3.5 or so, roughly 1985-86.

I have absolutely no recollection of the installation being either difficult or out of the ordinary for any version of WP that I ever loaded.

In this case, it was only difficult for anyone who RTFM... You probably tossed it in the corner...
