Well, if she makes Veep, that's a good life insurance policy for Obama, unless Bogie means that Obama will have a Vince Foster style of accident...

If he loses, she'll run in 2012 against McCain.

There is a good chance that McCain won't run in 2012 if he is elected.

He has stated a couple of times that he would only be a one term President.

Hell I think I might consider a shot at Oklahoma Governor in 2010 and then run for President in 2012. grin

He thinks the middle east is rainbows and candy. He wants to visit and talk to nasty leaders there. Bhutto comes to mind.

[Obama] could go to A-stan and get Bin Laden to be his VP choice

That's not even totally outside the realm of possibility  shocked

If the BBC is accurate - Hillary throws in the towel!

Hillary Clinton will withdraw from the race to become the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, and back her rival Barack Obama, her campaign says.

On Tuesday, Mr Obama gained enough delegates to win the nomination, after the final votes of the primary season.

Mrs Clinton has still not admitted in public that she lost the contest, but on Friday she will do so "and express her support for Senator Obama".

Current scuttlebutt is that Hillary will formally announce her withdrawal from the race on Friday.  Why Friday?  Who knows.

The news media has been trying all week to make it look like Hillary has already withdrawn from the race.  She hasn't.  Not yet.  Not officially.

I dunno... I'm guessing between one week before election day and one week after inauguration.

One of the Dem strategists was asked last night about the large number of Hillary supporters who are angry and say they intend to vote for McCain instead.

She smirked and said "Oh, they don't really mean that, they're just upset." and basically explained that the silly little voters had no idea what they were saying and would of course get behind Obama.

Typical for the party elite. I hope it explodes in their face.

"WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton told colleagues Tuesday she would be consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate, and advisers said she was withholding a formal departure from the race partly to use her remaining leverage to press for a spot on the ticket."

It's all just posturing, now: the Super Ticket is coming.

Hillary is not done, just for now. I was impressed watching her speech, she and Bill have kissed about every ass they need to in the Democratic machine and re-established themselves as a force in the party. They will be owed when this little rock star deal blows up and a candidate is needed in 2012. I don't think Hillary is kewl but she is a truly professional politician.

I tend to believe that Hillary desires to be the next Ted Kennedy, if being the next Bill Clinton is not an option.
