I thought Dr. Hibbert was a GP, not a dentist?

Yep.

The Dentist also showed Lisa, not Ralph, the Big Book of British Smiles.

That was the episode where the nuke plant employees gave up their dental coverage for some minor concessions from Mr. Burns, then appointed Homer lead negotiator to get them back.

Lisa was singing old union organization-type songs at one point in the episode, before it devolved into a paen to The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

Pretty damned funny.

I use this floss almost exclusively:  http://shopping.msn.com/specs/johnson-johnson-fluoride-waxed-floss-mint-50-yard/itemid786463940/?itemtext=itemname:johnson-johnson-fluoride-waxed-floss-mint-50-yard

If I cannot find J&J waxed mint, then I go with Crest Easy Glide floss.

I have those floss swords in my desk and use them inbetween my thrice daily brushings and flossings.  You can get a big bag of them for very little money at Wal-Mart or Target.

There is a proper flossing technique and it used to be taught in schools (at least up North).  However, now they need the time for Obama worship or teaching 10 year olds about condoms or some such teachers' union garbage.

Proper flossing:  http://www.adha.org/oralhealth/flossing.htm

FYI, Balog, the new power toothbrushes are doing a wonderful job.

At my last cleaning (last Monday), she only picked at my teeth for a few minutes before polishing them (minty orange, love that flavor).

Do they really offer a significant advantage? I'd always thought they were more marketing hype than anything....

Yes, the new power toothbrushes are fantastic, and becoming cheaper (the replacements heads were the expensive).

I use the Sonicare Flexcare power toothbrush.  I am very happy with it (more importantly, my dentist is happy with it).

No, it was Ralph who was shown the BBoBS. What the dentist showed Lisa and Marge was a series of computer-generated projections of what Lisa would look like if she didn't get braces. He also showed her the medieval torture-device-braces they would've been able to afford without the dental plan. Still funny.

Homer: Gummy Joe! What if we didn't have our dental plan?
Gummy Joe (with 1 tooth): Well, I wouldn't have old Chopper here, that's for sure.

Oh hell, you're right.

Ralph wasn't flossing, or something like that.
