'Taken' movie

It's a TERRIBLE movie. And I love it too. Movies are supposed to be fun.

Yup. Total cheesefest, but it's just great fun. I like the apartment scene where the guy with the 'creative' headgear tries his hand at armed robbery...

I did too. It would have been rather anti-climactic, though.

Also, the only thing missing from that scene was: "Anyone else wanna negotiate?!"

The movie was extremely well done.  Except the construction site escape and right before the sheik part.  The part with the sheik I thought was pretty fair. 

I liked the reliance on intelligence over special effects or ninja moves.

I am disappointed that the American theatrical edition of Taken cut out the some of the finer points of the European version.

I got the DVD a few weeks ago. I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised.

In the electrocution scene, he drives two nails into the thug's knees. And I've heard that it shows more of the shooting...you see the guys get shot and go down.

I have no idea why these things were cut out...I want my violence intact.

Showing people being tortured or killed is OK, but god forbid you see the blood.  And don't get me started on nipples or the f-bomb.

I'm not the most tactical guy in the world, but in my mind he had sorta set a tripwire in his mind when he was "negotiating" with the sheik.  It was like he had decided that as soon as the sheik spoke, he was going to shoot. 

...not that there's anything wrong with that....

It's OK dear, that's just what Daddy does.

I only called BS twice. That alone makes it a good movie. One was where he got out on the window ledge and he was wearing leather-soled shoes. I forget the other.
