Replace "and" with "or" and I have more agreement.  I like cheese on some things, but not on all foods as some seem to do.

Also, shouldn't butter be mentioned in a thread like this?

Why?  Is Paula Deen commenting too?

Where do you live? Cheese on pie is pretty common still

Near St. Louis. Larry was the one who put it in historical context. I was just hoping he was right about it being a thing of the past.

Cheese on a slice of uncooked apple? Yum. Cheese on apple pie? There oughtta be a law.  [ar15]

All edge cases are summarily rejected.  Ice cream can't be improved on by any of the redneck trinity.  If you think so (my daughter whomped up some feta-infused ice cream, so I have experience), you are mistaken.

Didn't they make a bacon ice-cream on Iron Chef?

Now, as much as I like bacon and ice cream, putting them together just does not sound appealing at all.

Hmm, I may have been the only person here who had the Bacon Sundae at Burger King.  I liked it.

Dad had it. Was underwhelmed.

I do agree that butter needs to be on this list.

I tried it as well.  It wasn't bad, but not something I need to eat often.

Could I have a bacon sundae without the ice cream? That sounds tasty!

On cheese with apple pie, the cheese should be along side the pie, definitely not melted over the top where it will wreck a good crust.  A sharp cheddar or harzer, or some gjetost for me, please.
Gee, I'd love to see your data!

http://magazine.foxnews.com/recipe/beer-mac-and-cheese-recipe

This actually sounds pretty good; I have never thought about boiling the pasta in a dilute beer solution.

Made this for supper on Sunday. It was interesting. I used Spotted Cow as the recipe called for, and for the IPA in the cheese sauce I used Sierra Nevada 2012 Celebration. The intensity of the beer flavor in the final product was much more subtle than I expected, but the beer really contributed to an intense bready/yeasty aroma in the mac 'n cheese.
