Help. I am using Windows XP. My IE has a bug (big news, I know). I have been using Firefox and like it but there are a couple of sites that are only usable with IE. I want to delete my IE and reinstall a later version. Is that possible? How?
Thanks.

If you have XP, you have the latest version of IE. I don't think uninstalling IE is possible.
You might try downloading the full install (probably called offline installation, or administrater's installation) and overwriting it.

No ideas for IE, I think you're hosed if you have it with XP. Have you tried Opera? It may work on the sites you need IE for.

It can be done , can be more or less complicated depending on what service pack you are running, more info here:

Never tried that Ray but - looks just possible.
Trouble is IE is so enmeshed and integrated with the whole Windows platform - it's hard to counteneance total destruction - well, without screwing up some thing else in the O/S!

I have used a program that repairs the Windows registry with success.
It is called Registry Mechanic. The free version helped so I sprung for the pay version and my system is as good as new.
There are other programs out there that do the same thing. I found this one at
http://www.download.com/
I picked something up that got zapped out by my spyware protection but not before messing my system up.
