And just when the miscreant was turning his life around.

Did Kennyget killed in the process?

You bastards!

Seizing the high ground worked better for this lady than General G. A. Custer, I note. [popcorn] [tinfoil]

Police later found multiple bullet holes in the outside of the home, which they believe were caused by the burglar.
Officers also arrested two other men, who fled from the scene in a vehicle when police arrived, according to the statement.
All things considered, it might have been a good strategy. I am curious if the bullet holes in the house happened before or after she shot him.
Do any of you know if there is a duty to retreat there?

There is no duty to retreat in Washington state.

I think these guys were a little less interested in actual combat than the men Custer faced.

I'm always amused in "adventure" movies, sitcoms, whatever, when the bad guy tries to escape by climbing up something. Like when you get to the roof or the top of the industrial apparatus or whatever, you're trapped anyhow, right?
But it does make for good movie drama to have him fall down from there after having been shot.
Oh, especially if he falls into a vat of something noxious.
Good movie drama.
Then there's "True Lies."

Yeah, yeah, I know... it's supposed to be funny, but illustrates my point. How can you escape by going "up" when there's a cop on a horse in an elevator right behind you?

I was sure someone else would bring it up, so thanks.
I really enjoyed that movie... but of course, with Jamie Lee Curtis in it, who wouldn't? <drool> I'm speaking for the boys here, of course.
It was just at the right point between my own suspension of reality and hardnosedness. I mean, I could see an inexpert VTOL flier crushing the roof of a police car, but not the fact that an inexpert flier could even get in one and try to take off. Right at the border line, for me. YBLMV.
And of course, that gun would never have passed the California drop test. =D
