Like, "Team A will take the .45 side, Team B, you will take the 9mm position."
I've fallen into this trap before. I was like 'Wait a moment, how'd I end up here, making this argument?' My next post I conceded a bunch of stuff, outright stated that I'd lost my head to being contrary for contrary's sake, and restated my
original argument.
Seriously, in schools debate clubs and classes will often assign you a position to argue. The idea is that you're supposed to be learning how to
debate, not just debate your side.
