it's a great thing when a musician passes the stage of trying to get as many notes as possible into a given measure, and starts breathing through their instrument.
their are so many tremendously talented musicians who have to make a living by playing in the background that i love to see a headliner who is not afraid to encourage his backup to take front and center.

I saw Fagen, Mcdonald and Boz scaggs together with most of steely dan's backup people. Jon herington, one of the best guitar players there is, had to play second fiddle to Boz which was sad because Boz really sucks on the geetar. I thought for once they'd let Jon open up and play but nooooo,,,,
