Title: Political Ads
Post by: nate.45 on March 03, 2005, 10:18:52 PM
I just saw an anti McCain ad on TV, no surprise at this time of year.

I did however have a thought of how sad it is that ads like that can be effective.

We hear all the time that negative ads are effective, but effective on whom? The uninformed, undecided voters sad thats who and thats also the sad part. It is a proven fact that most elections are decided by the 20 or so precent undecided. Undecided, uninformed people, people that can be influenced by a 30 second negative political ad are going to decide our political future.

If thats not sad I don't know what is. sad

I am interested in the proven facts about the undecided.  Where did you find this information?

Maybe someone on McCain's campaign can introduce the BHO capaign to the concept of the "search engine."

I think you all mistake incompetence for malice, to misquote Napoleon.  Maybe the Obama campaign is thinking "Well, we have worked the woman pretty good, lets beat on the disabled guy a while".

Of the local ads on here for local offices, the Democrats are shamelessly lying. Like, blatant lies, like they don't even care. Just make it up and say the opponent said it or was responsible for it.

It's rather shocking.

Just look at the 2004 election's exit polls in the presidential race:  http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/US/H/00/epolls.0.html

20% of the people surveyed made up their mind in the final month.  11% in the final week.  5% in the final -three days-.

Why isn't McCain pounding Obama on this?

That did occur to me today as well.  Certainly - judging by the unanimous takeup amongst elements of the pro-Obama camp - it seems that the next tactic is to charge McCain as being a liar of hitherto unparallelled size based on his totally false allegations that Obama did or say some stuff that merely just did or said.

Of course, some of these attacks are better than others:
