Gates BBQ.  In the ghetto.  Kansas City, Kansas.

Bars on the windows, armed guard.  Michelob on tap.

Amazing.

HI! MAY I HELP YOU!

I know the place quite well Ezekiel.  Grew up around that part of town.

But from KC you also have Bryant's and several other places that escape me.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Bacon is the candy bar of meats!

Coleslaw.  I don't know how people can purposely ingest such a foul smelling and tasting substance.  Blech.

Actually, I don't like cole slaw either.  I included it in my description because I was so impressed by the amount of food Stateline sells for so little.  The potato salad and baked beans were fine, but who wants to touch them as long as there are still ribs on the plate.

I have to put in a vote for my friends cousin at "Pig in Pig Out" from wichita,
Especially the ribs he makes for competitions, like the American Royal.  Ohhh baby!

"The 29th annual World Series of Barbecue will take place October 2 - 5, 2008 at the American Royal complex in Kansas City.  "
