RIP Debralee...
« on: February 19, 2007, 06:07:12 AM »
You may not recognize the name but would recognize her if you were around in the 70's. She had quite a lengthy list of supporting roles during her career and made numerous appearances on game shows such as Password and Match Game. IIRC she had parts in both Airplanes and at least one Police Academy. This is a bit late as she passed in 2005 just a few days after her 52nd birthday. I was watching an old Password with her on it and out of curiosity (Where are they now?) did a search on her. Sadly, it appears she is but another victim of 911 as her fiance was a Port Authority policeman who died in the Tower collapse. It is claimed she never recovered from the loss and drank herself to death. With all the hype put forth over the death of Anna I feel it's only right to not overlook the loss of Debralee, a much more worthwhile "celebrity" than Anna could have ever hoped to be. RIP Debralee.  sad

Actually, it looks like maybe she didn't have any parts in the Airplane movies, but there were plenty others.

Dude, botox stops nerve reactions - makes sure you don't smile with your eyes while your mouth does, so you don't get laugh lines (personally, I think laugh lines are sexy...).

The oversized lips that were popular a year or three ago are the result of either heredity, or collagen injections.

Bummer.  I so had the hots for Bredalee in the days of "Welcome Back Kotter" & "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman".

I noticed in the OBIT that her fiance was killed in the 911 attacks.  I wonder if that led to her premature death.

She's awesome in that pic in 280's link. Don't remember her though, but I'm not a big TV (sitcom/serial) fan. I'm sure she was a helleva lot more woman than that bimbo!

Same for me, I don't recall her in Kotter or Mary Hartman but she did so many small parts throughout the genre that her face became a recognizable icon of the 70's even though noone ever really knew her name. I'd known her as Debralee from Match Game but never knew her last name until the other day when I saw her introduced on Password. That's when I got curious about whatever happened to her. It just goes to show you that alcoholism is as deadly a disease as any other. And 911 claimed many more victims after the fact as well.
