Quote
BUCHAREST, Romania — A Romanian court has rejected a man’s claim that he is alive after his wife officially registered him as dead, saying that the decision cannot be reversed.

A spokeswoman for the court told local news outlets on Friday that the man, Constantin Reliu, 63, lost his case in the northeast city of Vasului because he had appealed too late.

The ruling is final.

"Here, he says he's not dead."

"Yes he is."

Or ... possibly Brazil:

Seems like a dead person has no obligation to pay taxes,  and can't possibly be held responsible for any other criminal activity...

Oh man, I would SO be all over that!

This court sentences you to death!

I'm already dead! Look it up! You can't kill me twice!

Already dead?
No problem, take that corpse out and bury it.

And collect on your life insurance.  I would have bought all I could just before the court case started ....

Aaaand, who would do the collecting on that/those policies?

Beneficiary would have to be someone else, whom you trust.  (Certainly not your lawyer.  >:D )

Direct it to your living trust.  easy-peasy.  ;)

So who administers your living trust after you are no longer living?

As pointed out elsewhere, after Dracula, you'd think Romania would be more careful about accuracy when distinguishing between living and dead.

Perhaps they just have a more perfect understanding than we do.
