Finally watched the trailer. I like that Data is back, killing him off really annoyed me and seemed unnecessary.

Still not enough to get me to pay to watch it, though. I'll wait and see how it plays out, first.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Voyager made it back in the last episode (spoiler) .....................................................................using a Borg transwarp conduit

STD occurs in some weird inbred JJ + original, needs to be put out of our misery, woke universe around the time, or a little before, the original
I watched much of the Voyager series.  I drifted away the last season or two.  I guess I need to watch the last few episodes.

Eh... I watched Voyager because I was a huge Star Trek fan, but I never really liked it. (Eye candy borg, aside.)

I really liked Enterprise, but it turned into crap as well. I stopped watching when the Captain was thrown back in time. (To WWII and Nazis? I can't remember).

Star Trek hasn't really made anything really good in a LONG time. First Contact would be my best guess.

(/Checks timeline- Ah, I see DS9 had a finale in 1999. I'll go with that, then.)

On Enterprise, the time travel adder was pretty messed up.  I think many series get messed up when they try to set up some sort of multi-episode story line.  I think they run out of ideas for individual episodes and lean on those long term story arcs as a crutch.

^^^I will say that on ST: Deep Space Nine, I thought the Dominion war-JemHadar-Cardassian story arc was well done.

I think I saw it mentioned that STD occurs approximately 10 years before STOS.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Agree. There were sneaky interactions (eg., plotting by Benjamin Sisko and that Cardassian "tailor") against the Dominion that you just wouldn't have seen in any of the other ST series.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.
