Um...yeah...I'm gonna have to go with a "no" on that one.  See earlier comment regarding "big and scary".

which would you rather? Quiet pet that can be kept in a box and will soon curl up and die or pet that has the run of your whole house, will crap and pee on the carpet, eat your shoes and bark, loudly?

Because you know, if he picks a puppy, it's GOING to be THAT puppy and Goober will love it so much, you'd just have to tolerate it.

Good point....I think I'd still take the puppy.  She says she wants a little dog that can sit in her lap like a dachshaund (sp?) anyways.  They're cuter than spiders, too.

I wouldn't do that. Might give the spider indigestion...

I wouldn't recomend a dachshund for a young child. They require some extra care and considerations, which don't always go well with an active child.

Maybe Ben needs a new pet? >:D

I just got a text an hour ago that there's three itty bitty spiders in the house and I need to come home and kill them. Little does she know that spiders are my friends and I never kill them, I just take them outside. :)

Hystarical, and she never will know, since she would never read this thread.

Oh, dear...

Which is more rewarding, tricking Mrs. Smith into seeing spiders or the giggle worthy fact of seeing Ben post secrets in full veiw of the public?

Delima, delima...  >:D

oh, I know, several neighbors have had them and would always talk about the care it takes to have them.  I'm definitely doing research before she gets a puppy....and I still say they're cuter than spiders.

Anything is cuter than a spider....

But has less "freek people out" factor.

What about a pet rat? Rats are great pets, and cute.  ;)

Much cuter than the big scary furry thing that was pictured at the beginning of this thread.

She could bring it to visit her uncle strings... And terpsicorde could "forget" to make sure it's in it's box when they leave...
(you know, she could do that with a spider too... )

One of my twin daughters had a pet tarantula for a while, until it went to that Great Web in the sky.

I think she has had pet rats, also.

I've heard that humans can make great pets, but they're probably less dependable than rats.  :P

You'd have to find it first. Make sure to check the heating vents.  [popcorn]

And what makes you think I'd open the door knowing you'd have big scary spider (or snake for that matter) with you?

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Ken over at Popehat has an incident with the new associate that prompts discussion of the "spider dance".  http://www.popehat.com/2012/06/15/thats-a-net-0-klout-to-associate/#comments

Would someone be so kind as to advise MrsSmith, as well as assure her there are no pictures of spiders at that site.

For the rest of us, it opens new topics such as palmetto bugs.

stay safe.
