Need help -- MacOS Department
« on: February 27, 2022, 09:12:46 PM »
Is there anyone here who uses a Mac and who speaks fluent Spanish? I need to find out if in the MacOS set up with Spanish as the default language, what several Terminal commands would look like.

As in, open terminal windows, and enter commands at a command prompt?  I suspect they would be exactly the same.

Yes, that's the question. Would the terminal commands be in English, or would they be in Spanish?

I have an article that includes a bunch os screen shots illustrating how to accomplish some tasks in MacOS. I'm translating it into Spanish and I don't know if I need to replace the screen shots that show the explicit commands.

It's basically a Unix command line.  Not really English.

What specifically are you looking at?

How to protect files and folders.

I don't know Mac, but I assume it's chmod.  Also might be "fs sa"  (I used fs a lot in AIX to set permissions)

The question isn't what the commands are in English. I wrote the book a year ago. My problem is that I'm doing a version in Spanish, and I don't know if I need a bunch of new screenshots.

Samples attached. The screens are in English. Do I need to find some Mac user in a Spanish-speaking country and get him/her to replicate the process and make new screen shots for me?

Commands and other keywords don't change when you switch languages.  Just the help text changes.  Maybe MacOS is different, but I doubt it.

I doubt the commands are going to be different, even though the system language is now Spanish.
