Authorities Unable To Determine Burn Victim's Race, Sex, Age
3300 block of National Street, South Dallas
A car fire led to the discovery of a body in south Dallas Tuesday morning, authorities told FOX 4's Casey Stegall.
Dallas Fire Rescue authorities said they found the body after arriving on the scene of a reported car fire in the 3300 block of National Street in south Dallas shortly after midnight. The car was discovered in a remote area parked on a dirt road that runs along the west of the railroad tracks between Lenway and the Cedar Crest viaduct.
Workers at a nearby plant called 911 after seeing the flames coming from the area.
The body was found in the front passenger seat.
Authorities said because the body was badly burned, they have not been able to determine the victim's age, sex or race.
The fire and death remain under investigation by Dallas Fire Rescue arson investigators and officials with the Dallas Police Department's homicide division
